The Digital Euro does not replace cash overnight. But it builds the infrastructure to make every payment digital in the future — and it is a Trojan horse for further control mechanisms such as the digital ID. Digital wallets. Transaction limits. New control mechanisms. And yet our payment system already works. Nobody asked for the Digital Euro.
And yet it will come — if we stay silent
And still, the Commission, the ECB and the majority of the established parties keep pushing the project forward. A new infrastructure is being built. An infrastructure that any future government can use for its own purposes. Whoever sets the wrong guardrails today gives them up for generations.
